Re: “Plenty of work left for 113th Congress,” Nov. 16 editorial.
Your editorial lays out an important agenda for the next several weeks of the lame-duck Congress. Municipal leaders across the state hope that passage of the Marketplace Fairness Act — which would allow sales taxes to be levied on online purchases — gets on the must-pass list. This legislation will level the playing field for Main Street small businesses, and generate important revenue for the states and localities across the country. This bill has garnered wide bipartisan support and the endorsement of The Denver Post. We hope Colorado’s delegation supports the measure when it comes to a full vote.
