More than 2,500 families were provided the fixings for a proper Thanksgiving meal Sunday in Jefferson County.
The Action Center’s annual Thanksgiving distribution featured more than 400 volunteers directing traffic, greeting registered clients and loading up vehicles with Thanksgiving meal ingredients and a voucher for a King Soopers turkey or ham, according to an Action Center news release.
The event took place at the Jefferson County Stadium Sunday morning, and the release said the event is unusual because it allows recipients to stay warm in their cars while volunteers pack up the food.
A walk-up distribution also was available for those without cars, the release said.
