Police in Wheat Ridge say they have arrested a man accused of critically injuring a pedestrian in a drunken Sunday night hit-and-run.
Robert McGhee, 58, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and vehicular assault, police said Monday.
About 7 p.m., police responded to reports of a man lying in the middle of the street near the intersection of 28th Avenue and Tabor Court. There they found a 48-year-old man in the street, suffering from life-threatening injuries.
The man was taken to a hospital in critical condition, where he remains.
Police say McGhee has been cooperative with the investigation into the hit-and-run.
