National Entertainment Collectibles Association Inc. subsidiary KR Purchase has acquired Boulder-based art toy company Kid robot. Terms were not disclosed.

Artist-driven Kidrobot will remain headquartered in Boulder. Frank Kozik, the famed concert-poster artist and creator of Kid robot’s Labbit vinyl toy products, will join the company as creative director.

Kidrobot relocated to Boulder from New York in 2010. The company closed its retail stores in Boulder, New York and Los Angeles this year. Paul Budnitz, who created the toys in his garage in 2002, no longer works at Kidrobot. He started Budnitz Bicycles in Vermont in 2010 and co-founded Boulder-based social network Ello this year.
