Drink to the holidays
Frisco’s annual Wassail Days begin Dec. 5. Celebrating the holiday season, Wassail Days feature local businesses serving up wassail tastings, carolers, an ugly-sweater contest, visits from Santa, a Soup Cup Classic that will crown that best amateur soup chef, and much more.
Winter fest
Grand Junction’s Winter Festival and 31st annual Parade of Lights is Dec. 6. Starting at 5 p.m., bundle up and head out to Main Street to watch more than 100 floats light up downtown Grand Junction. The Winter Festival begins at 4 p.m., with family activities and holiday gifts for sale.
Going big in Breck
The Dew Tour is Dec. 11-14 in Breckenridge. Watch snowboard and ski competitions at Peak 8, and then head downtown for live concerts, games, giveaways and athlete meet-and-greets.
Santa in the skies
Ride over the Rockies in a hot air balloon with Santa, through Jan. 1 in Winter Park. Flights take place at sunrise, and guests can catch clear views of the snowy peaks in Summit County, and along the Front Range. Tickets begin at $250 per rider. Gift certificates are available.
