A house in Gilpin County was destroyed Sunday following the explosion of a butane tank, county officials said.
The unidentified occupant of the house was sent to St. Anthony’s Hospital with burns on his hands. Officials said one of dogs reportedly living in the home was singed following the incident; the second dog had not been located.
Officials said it is not known what caused the tank to explode; the case is currently under investigation by the Gilpin County Sheriff’s Office and the Timberline Fire Department.
