The Broncos spoiled Kyle Orton’s return to Denver on Sunday with . Here’s what Orton, as well as Peyton Manning and other Broncos players, had to say after the Denver victory.
PEYTON MANNING, BRONCOS QB
On if he’ll start another passing touchdown streak next week:
“Yeah, sure. … I’ve broken a lot of records and set a lot of records due to playing for a long time and playing well at times, but it’s never been something that I’ve been about. So I don’t need to break or set another record. It was important to get a win tonight. C.J. (Anderson) did a good job down there in the red zone, getting in there on those runs. Those are hard-earned runs down there. It was good to improve our red zone.”
On if it takes some getting used to the run-heavy offense:
“I hope fans will still keep coming to the game. I know (president and CEO) Joe (Ellis) and (senior vice president of business development) Mac Freeman will be disappointed if fans stop coming because we’re not throwing it as much. Every game takes on a different formula, different ways to win and that is the way this game worked out. But yeah there is no question it’s been a little bit of an adjustment.”
On the penalty against him:
“I guess they called me for using my hands. Usually they give you some kind of warning on that. I’ve already , I’m not going to do it again. So I was a little surprised by the call. Usually you do some kind of — I don’t think I did anything different than I’ve normally done all season and I don’t think that really influenced why the guy jumped offsides, but that was that call.”
On C.J. Anderson’s yards after contact:
“It’s impressive to watch. Sometimes I get a minus on my grade sheet for not carrying out my fake but I like to watch. I like to see him because I have a good view of it back there and he makes a lot of guys miss. There was a third down audible today we checked to the run player and there was a guy freeing the hole and he made him miss and got the first down. He’s done that a number of times. That is one of those things like I said last week that is hard to coach. It’s nice to have as a running back in your arsenal.”

TERRANCE KNIGHTON, BRONCOS DT
On his verbal altercation with Bills’ safety Aaron Williams:
“First of all, if you hit a guy and it’s a football play and you didn’t mean to do it, (then) show some sportsmanship. You know, when you’re not that elite of a player to be jawing to our sideline, and if that’s your way of getting your team into the game, then I feel bad for your team. Just play the game within the rules and don’t come on the sideline acting like your intent is to hurt players because that shouldn’t be how it is. Players are a fraternity, and I don’t even believe he was the guy that hit him, so I don’t know what his argument was.”

C.J. ANDERSON, BRONCOS RB
On what he told Juwan Thompson after his long run:
“I just hugged him and told him, ‘Thank you,’ because he got me down there. He was tired and I tried to tell him, ‘Man, get your head down and go.’ Juwan played a hell of a game today. You have to give it up to No. 40. He just sits there and he’s been great all year. When he gets his opportunity, he always makes the best of it.”

VON MILLER, BRONCOS LB
On Brandon Marshall quietly leading the defense:
“He’ definitely stepped up in the absence of Danny (Trevathan), and at the beginning of the season when he came in, I knew what type of player he was going to be and I knew what type of plays he was going to make for us. He and Chris Harris hasd a heck of a game for us.”

DOUG MARRONE, BILLS COACH
On how he would rate Kyle Orton’s performance:
“I think it’s the same situation. No matter what it is at the end of the day, we all weren’t good enough to win. So that’s how I rate it.”
On the Bills’ multiple penalties:
“I told them, ‘That’s my fault, there’s no doubt about it, that’s my fault.’ I have to do a better job. That falls on me.”

KYLE ORTON, BILLS QB
On if he thought a lot about coming back to Denver:
“No, just focused on the task at hand. Knew we were in for a battle. Knew we were going up against a good defense. So, pretty much spent all my time focusing on that.”
On if he had good thoughts during his time as a Bronco:
“Like I said, I really haven’t thought about it. I have been quite a few places this was a stop along the way.”
