Re: “CU Buffs’ reconstruction project is on, off field,” Dec. 1 sports story.

In their extensive article on the University of Colorado football team, the reporters missed the key solution (whether inadvertently or by design) that would have changed the future of the CU football program. Where is the burning passion to hire the one person with the proven talent to coach, recruit and instill the players with the will to win?

The thousands of alumni, students and Buff fans who attended, rain or shine, year after year, have made their wishes known as to who deserved the position. Once again, Dave Logan has taken a mediocre athletic program to the pinnacle of the Colorado high school football season by winning another, his seventh title with four schools. Logan’s ability to teach, inspire, reprogram and establish the desire to win is unquestioned and a proven quality.

Our best wishes go to Coach Mike MacIntyre. However, should the position become available, CU devotees will again make their wishes known in favor of the one person who can change CU’s football destiny. Let us hope that the animosity and grievous intentions displayed in previous choices are long since gone from the CU administration.
