Interim Denver Sheriff Elias Diggins recently apologized to a mother who was told by a deputy that she couldn’t nurse in the lobby of the Denver jail. (Helen H. Richardson, Denver Post file)
Re: “Breastfeeding moms stage “nurse-in” at Denver’s downtown jail,” Dec. 5 news story.
Kudos to Interim Sheriff Elias Diggins for his support of Rochelle Bricker breast-feeding her baby in public [in the lobby of the downtown Denver jail]. This is a God-given right to all women and is in no way offensive to anyone.
I breast-fed all three of my children in public when the need arose and used a diaper or blanket not so much for modesty as for protection from airborne viruses and bacteria. It is the safest and most convenient method for babies and moms.
