The Jefferson County Republican Party is accepting applications from those interested in being appointed to fill the seat of outgoing Commissioner Faye Griffin, who was elected last month to become the county’s clerk and recorder.
Griffin, a Republican who previously served as clerk and recorder in Jefferson County, had two years still to go in her commissioner term.
She will start as clerk on Jan. 13.
The Jefferson County GOP announced Tuesday it will begin forming a vacancy committee in the next few days to find a replacement for Griffin. It plans to fill the position within 10 days of her vacancy.
Residents of District 1 can apply for the post until Dec. 29. Applicants can visit or call 303-277-1113 to get further details.
