A day after news broke that Drake and Diddy got into a tussle outside a Miami club, we might have some answers as to what happened and why.
Early reports swirled that maybe Drake had in some way tried to put the moves on Diddy’s lady Cassie (it wouldn’t be the first time the Toronto star has been accused of wooing another’s lover). Now, Gawker is confirming the spat was actually over the beat Drake used for “0-100.”
Drake released the track “0-100” on July 15 as a freestyle. The beat, produced by Boi-1da, was given to both Diddy and Drake, with the former keeping the monster production on ice longer than Drake liked, according to reports. Since July, the song has caught fire with the hip-hop community and landed on a few year-end lists.
Everything came to a head in Miami over the weekend when Diddy confronted Drake, punching him in the shoulder and exacerbating an old injury, according to TMZ. The confrontation sent Drake straight to the ER, reports say.
At 4:52 a.m. on Monday, DJ Sam Sneaker tweeted that Drake ended up in the hospital after the fight. This report is still unconfirmed, but Sneaker also tweeted that the hospitalization was for a dislocated shoulder.
