Police in Wheat Ridge are investigating a shooting in an apartment complex parking lot early Wednesday morning that left a man injured.
Police responded to reports of multiple gunshots at the Villa Victoria apartment complex near West 38th Avenue and Quail Court about 5 a.m. When officers arrived, police found the man suffering from a single gunshot wound and rushed him to a local hospital.
His name and condition were not released by police.
At about 5 p.m., the department released a mug shot of a man considered a suspect in the case, 29-year-old Gregory Junior Kilcollins.
Kilcollins is described as a white male, 6-feet, 175 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair that may be shaved. Kilcollins was last seen wearing a white hat, white long sleeve shirt, and blue jeans.
Police said they believe Kilcollins and the victim knew one another and. They do not believe the public is in danger.
“Witnesses tell us (Kilcollins) fled in a vehicle,” Romero said.
Several cars in the parking lot had been struck by bullets. Investigators interviewed neighbors and gathered evidence as they milled around the scene.
