1 MMA fighter fends off kidnappers. A man with an admitted history of gang activity told police he was walking to work on Nov. 26 in the 5300 block of Carr Street, Arvada, when a woman in a black Mazda asked if he wanted a ride. After getting into the back seat he was promptly put into a chokehold by another passenger as the woman pulled out a knife. He elbowed the woman, broke her nose, then backfisted her jaw. He then took the arm of the male and snapped it over his shoulder. He escaped and reported the attack, telling police he was a mixed martial arts fighter.

2 Enraged man demands salad dressing. A restraining order didn’t keep a man from visiting his wife and kid for dinner in the 8500 block of West 54th Place, Arvada, on Nov. 21. He became angry about the lack of Italian dressing for a salad, and his wife called the police when he refused to leave. He disconnected her 911 call before fleeing.

3 Cocaine confession ends in assault. A night of heavy drinking on Nov. 20 in the 5000 block of Everett Street, Arvada, ended when a man confessed to his girlfriend he had used cocaine three times since August. They argued and the suspect assaulted the female, bashed in her bedroom door and stole her cellphone. He was arrested on six charges.

4 Paranoid woman alleges theft. A woman in the 6800 block of West 84th Way, Arvada, told police on Nov. 21 that she hadn’t slept in months and her neighbors were stealing her electricity, Internet and cable service, and that her thermostat had been hacked. Neighbors said she would scream at odd hours every night.
