Getting your player ready...

A perfect fit.

Those were our thoughts when we saw that Gov. John Hickenlooper had appointed Don Quick to a circuit court judgeship in the 17th Judicial District.

Quick, who ran unsuccessfully for state attorney general, is a former prosecutor who has served Colorado with distinction.

Putting him on the bench in a district covering Adams and Broomfield counties will potentially allow him to put into practice some of the crime-fighting strategies he outlined on the campaign trail.

All in all, a win for Colorado.
