Forecasters say a weather system expected to drop snow in Colorado and the Denver area this weekend will be weak.
“It doesn’t look like much snow for the Eastern Plains or the urban corridor,” said Bob Koopmeiners of the National Weather Service in Boulder.
Koopmeiners says the Front Range shouldn’t expect to see much more than an inch of snow. The high country, however, could see as much as six inches.
“The moisture is pretty fleeting,” he said. “We need more moisture.”
Another weather system is expected to move into the state mid-week and has the potential to bring more significant snowfall. Dry, mild weather in recent weeks is threatening the state’s snowpacks, which are hovering about normal.
Snow and cool temperatures in the 30s are expected to move into the state Saturday before moving out Sunday night.
