1 Hammer time. On Nov. 30, Englewood police officers responded to the 3300 block of South Santa Fe Drive where a man had hit another man with a hammer, causing him to bleed from the arms, hands and head. The suspect, who claimed he hit him with a stick, was arrested.

2 Found with drugs. On Dec. 4, Englewood police officers contacted a female driver in the area of West Dartmouth Avenue and South Tejon Street who was under the influence and had methamphetamine and heroin in her purse. The passenger also was found with meth and both were arrested.

3 Wrong scripts. On Dec. 8, Englewood police officers contacted a man while on patrol of Cushing Park,700 W. Dartmouth Ave., who had marijuana and 16 different prescriptions that did not belong to him. He was arrested on felony drug charges.

4 Purse theft. On Dec. 9, Englewood police officers responded to the 5000 block of South Federal Boulevard where a man stole an elderly woman’s purse and pushed her out of the way. The investigation is ongoing.

5 Disturbance. On Dec. 13, Englewood police officers responded to the 3400 block of South Downing Street on a report of a disturbance involving five people, two of whom were transported to Swedish Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation is ongoing.

6 Structure fire. On Dec. 11, Englewood police and fire responded to the 3900 block of South Elati Street on a report of a structure fire caused by a cigarette that was quickly put out. No one was injured in the fire.
