Police in Wheat Ridge found a parking lot this month that left a man seriously wounded was the result of an apparent love-triangle feud, according to court documents.
Gregory Kilcollins, 29, accused of being the gunman, was dating the shooting victim’s girlfriend while the victim was serving time in jail, records show. The woman told Kilcollins she was returning to the victim since he had been let out, leading to the shooting, police say.
Investigators found six .25-caliber casings at the scene. Witnesses told police they heard an argument before shots were fired, according to records.
Kilcollins by U.S. marshals and is being held at the Jefferson County jail in lieu of $100,000 bail. Charges against Kilcollins have not been filed, although he is being held in connection with the shooting. Wheat Ridge police said the victim is expected to make a full recovery.
The shooting happened during the early morning hours Dec. 10 at the Villa Victoria apartment complex near the intersection of West 38th Avenue and Quail Court.
