The , which fund that is available to nearby counties on Tuesday, has shared with us that several other organizations were involved in expanding the fund by $10.5 million.

Joining the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority and the Colorado Division of Housing, which put in $2.5 million total, were the following organizations:

  • Denver Foundation
  • Gates Family Foundation
  • Ford Foundation
  • Mile High Community Loan Fund
  • Mercy Loan Fund
  • Enterprise Community Fund

Partners who invested in the original fund set up in 2010 also renewed their commitment for another 10 years, said Brad Weinig, TOD’s director, who also works for Enterprise Community Partners.

One of TOD’s projects includes a residential development by Medici Communities near the Evans Light Rail Station.

TOD helped spur residential development near Denver light-rail stations and other public transit hubs. Since 2010, TOD has invested in 570 affordable housing units, including communities near Yale Station and several bus routes.

The additional investment aims to create 2,000 affordable units over the next 10 years. Loans also are now available to similar projects in Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Douglas and Jefferson counties.
