One person is dead after a one-car crash on U.S. 36 west of Lyons that closed the road for hours Saturday.
A Colorado State Patrol spokesman said a man driving an Audi struck a wall and then a tree at 3:20 p.m. between Lyons and Estes Park at milepost 17.
The driver was transported to Longmont United Hospital. He died from his injuries, authorities said.
The Colorado Department of Transportation announced at 8:50 p.m. that the road reopened.
