C.J. Anderson breaks through the Bills’ defense in the second quarter. ()
After his fine individual performance in defeat Monday – 83 yards rushing and a touchdown on 18 carries (4.6 yards per) and 55 yards receiving on eight catches – Broncos running back C.J. Anderson seemed to imitate fellow-Cal running back Marshawn Lynch while conducting his postgame interview.
To five different questions from the media, Anderson answered, “We played terrible,” or “We just played terrible.”
Lynch, Seattle’s star running back, answered every question following his team’s win Sunday night with “Thank you for asking.”
Lynch is not funny and is decidedly uncool. Anderson has always been one of the more personable Broncos — and the Broncos have always taken their relationship with the media seriously.
On Tuesday, Anderson expressed his regrets, first calling KUSA-TV sports reporter Rod Mackey to personally apologize, then sent out two tweets: “I apologize for my actions towards the media (after the game). I was very frustrated in the way I played. I’m not that type of guy. #neveragain
“As a player you take the good and the bad you move on. We will play and get better you have my word.”
