COLORADO SPRINGS — Forget the blowup Santa and snowman. The bones of a large elk in the front yard of a downtown Colorado Springs home draw looky-loos year-round.
“It’s free expression, part of all that free speech. It’s pretty gross though,” said Stephanie Caldwell, a neighbor.
The residents who live in the house with the remains outside did not respond to a request from The Gazette for an interview.
They are artists who are drying out the bones to use in artwork, said neighbor Robin Guinan, also an artist.
