Wednesday. Closing out this surreal year with laughter seems like the most appropriate response to the litany of batty events, big and small, over the past few months. Comedy Works is offering New Year’s Eve shows at its Larimer Square location (1226 15th St.) with headliner Keith Alberstadt and its south location (5345 Landmark Place in Greenwood Village) with Ryan Hamilton — the late versions of which include a midnight countdown, champagne toast and party favors. The Improv at Northfield Stapleton (8246 E. 49th Ave. #1400) is offering a similar package with headliner Jay Phillips ($25-$35, 303-307-1777). or for show times and availability on Dec. 31.
