Denver police and firefighters are investigating after fire crews found a man’s body inside an apartment building Monday afternoon.
Fire crews responded to a fire alarm at 2350 Cleveland Place at 12:14 p.m., said Lt. Mike Pylar, a spokesman for the Denver Fire Department.
Pylar said the building’s sprinkler system had extinguished the fire by the time firefighters arrived. A body was found inside by firefighters.
Investigators do not currently suspect foul play in the man’s death.
Pylar declined to say which floor the man’s unit was on. The building, part of the Thomas Bean Towers complex, is one of the Denver Housing Authorities affordable housing properties.
No one else was in the unit when firefighters arrived.
The fire was contained to one unit, but there was water damage to other units in the building. There was little smoke damage to the building, Pylar said.
