Wednesday. The PBS Kids show “Dinosaur Train,” produced by the Jim Henson Co., is a deceptively simple slice of kiddie edu-tainment that combines a couple of things that are irresistible to young children: trains and dinosaurs. But it’s also a surprisingly thoughtful, informative animated show, and one that features frequent appearances from our very own Scott Sampson — chief curator at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science (and a vocal advocate for connecting kids with nature). “Dinosaur Train Live! Buddy’s Big Adventure,” the show’s first costumed stage tour, follows one of its agreeable characters through music, laughs, dancing and more. It plays 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 7 at the Pikes Peak Center, 190 S. Cascade Ave. in Colorado Springs. Tickets: $22-$27. Call 866-464-2626 or .
