COLORADO SPRINGS — Two men rescued from a two-alarm house fire in southeast Colorado Springs Tuesday evening have been flown to a burn center in Denver, Colorado Springs firefighters said.

One man, 40, was found unconscious on the ground floor of the home. Another resident, a 70-year-old man in a wheelchair, was rescued near the front door, according to Colorado Springs Fire Department spokesman Capt. Steven Oswald. A dog was also rescued and treated for smoke inhalation.

The fire was reported at about 6 p.m. in a single-story home on the 4000 block of Colony Hills Circle. Firefighters believe the fire may have originated somewhere in the back of the home.
