Ullr for snow
Ullr Fest, Breckenridge’s annual winter festival, begins Jan. 11. Pack your Viking helmet for this week-long celebration that honors Ullr, Norse god of snow, with events like the Ullympics, a parade, a family ice skating party, the first ever Ullr bike race, along with fun contests on and off the mountain.
Fired up for art
Telluride’s Fire Festival is Jan. 15-19. Participate in interactive art forms, like art cars and fire dancing, attend gallery shows and workshops, chat with artists who work with fire and more. Events and displays will take place on Main Street and in Mountain Village. Outdoor events are free.
75 years of Winter Park
Celebrate Winter Park’s 75th anniversary on Jan. 23 and 24. Take part in the Stagecoach Classic cross-country ski race, a parade on Main Street, Winter Park Resort’s 75th Anniversary Gala and more.

In honor of the 100th anniversary of the signing of the legislation that created Rocky Mountain National Park, the Grand Lake Nordic center is hosting a ski-for-free day on Jan. 26.
