Although the Broncos led the NFL with nine Pro Bowl selections this season, they didn’t place one player on The Associated Press all-pro first team that was voted on by 50 members of the media and announced Friday.

The Broncos did put three players on the second team: cornerback Chris Harris, outside linebacker Von Miller and wide receiver Demaryius Thomas.

Harris received the third-most votes at cornerback, trailing New England’s Darrelle Revis (42) and Seattle’s Richard Sherman (41).

Miller tied Philadelphia’s Connor Barwin for the third-most votes at outside linebacker with 11. Baltimore outside linebacker Elvis Dumervil, a former Broncos star, made the first team with 13 votes. He joined Kansas City’s Justin Houston, who was a near- unanimous selection with 47 votes.

Thomas received the fourth-most votes at wideout with 11, trailing Green Bay’s Jordy Nelson (15) and all-pro selections Dez Bryant (24) of Dallas and Antonio Brown (49) of Pittsburgh. Mike Klis, The Denver Post

Watt, Gronkowski top list. J.J. Watt and New England tight end Rob Gronkowski were unanimous all-pro selections. Houston’s Watt did it in an unusual manner. He was listed on all 50 ballots by a nationwide panel of media members who regularly cover the NFL, with 45 of the votes coming at defensive end and the other five coming at defensive tackle. So he actually was a first-team end and a second-team tackle in gaining his third consecutive all-pro selection.
