
Police in Colorado Springs on Friday said a man seriously injured earlier this week in a accident involving a sled being pulled by a vehicle has died.
The man, identified by police as 33-year-old David Teets of Colorado Springs, was on a makeshift sled that slammed into a parked car. Authorities say Teets died as the result of injuries he sustained in the crash.
Michael Miner, 43, is accused of driving the vehicle at the time of the accident. He was arrested and faces charges of vehicular assault and attempt to influence a public official, both felonies
Cassandra Caton, 27, who was also in the vehicle, has been charged with accessory to a crime, a felony.
The crash happened Monday evening on the 1700 block of South Circle Drive, where police say Miner was driving a GMC Yukon pulling a homemade sled that appeared to be a metal bed frame topped with a rubber mat, according to .
Court records show Teets suffered brain swelling caused by head injuries and chest injuries caused by CPR.
In a separate incident, a 15-year-old girl from Lafayette, Riley Meere, was injured seriously last weekend when she was .
Meere, a Centarus High School student, remained hospitalized in serious condition Friday morning.

Fellow Centarus student Israel Miles, 18, was also on the tube when it skidded across two private driveways before hitting a dirt patch along the side of the road.
