There’s a saying in the personal-organizer industry that says your clutter problem (Quick: count while no one is looking … )
Donna Smallin’s latest book (Storey, 2014) won’t take up much room on the top of your bathroom vanity, or wherever you decide to stow it if you can manage to put it down.
My own recommendation (and resolution): Clear one shelf for this tiny titan of good advice. Then it will help you clear another shelf, and then another, and then your closet and maybe even your garage.
The point is that Smallin’s pages are tiny, but their impact could be huge — I’ve just learned to polish my stainless steel with furniture polish containing olive oil, and that if I spend 10 minutes a day decluttering, that’s 60 hours a year.
There’s no table of contents, no filler. Try this: Read a page a day. Execute the tip, or if it’s useless to you, tear it out. If it works for you, commit to it and tape or pin it up, or photograph and Facebook it. End of the week? All but one of the pages come down. End of the month? Everything goes.
