Police in Thornton are searching for a masked man who fired a gun during a failed robbery outside a business Friday morning.
The attempted robbery happened about 9:45 a.m. in the 8900 block of Washington Street. The suspect unsuccessfully demanded money, firing two shots before he fled.
Investigators believe the suspect did not fire the shots directly at the victim, who was not injured, according to Sgt. Matt Kandt. Police say it wasn’t immediately known if the suspect and victim knew each other. The suspect fled in a sedan.
