Tuesday. For 25 years, the Colorado Symphony Orchestra has been celebrating the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday with its own music. In 2015, the annual concert turns toward pop, with the socially conscious Denver hip-hop group Flobots center stage. Flobots will perform their well-known songs arranged for orchestra accompaniment by Tom Hagerman of DeVotchKa. The CSO adds its own sounds, with music from Beethoven and Dvorak, plus African-American composers Brian Keane and George Walker. The event is free but a ticket is required. Get one at the Blair-Caldwell African American Research Library, 2401 Welton St., or the Colorado Symphony Box Office, Denver Performing Arts Complex, 14th and Curtis streets, next to Boettcher Concert Hall, site of the 7:30 p.m. event. 303-623-7876 or .
