Getting your player ready...

Saturday. Add Mike Boryla to the list of people railing against the dangers of concussions in football — however artfully. The former Eagles and Buccaneers quarterback, 63, made his professional acting debut last year in Philadelphia with “The Disappearing Quarterback,” a one-man play based on his eight-song musical (yes, musical) called “Eagles Belong Where They Can Fly.” Between the witty stories and surprisingly deft humor, Boryla delivers some not-so-subtle thoughts on the human meat grinder that is professional sports. As a Regis High School grad and Castle Rock resident, Boryla is also making a point to stop at Denver’s Bug Theatre on Jan. 10 to perform the show. Its starts at 7:30 p.m. at 3654 Navajo St. $25. Call 303-477-5977 or visit for tickets. John Wenzel
