LAKEWOOD — Mitch McCarron scored 23 points, including two free throws with 6.5 seconds remaining for the winning points as Metro State, ranked No. 10 in Division II, defeated Colorado Christian 61-59 on Friday night.
Nicholas Kay scored 25 points to lead the Roadrunners (12-2, 7-1 RMAC).
FRIDAY’S HIGHLIGHT
Colorado Mines, ranked No. 9 in Division II, shot 65.2 percent from the field and never trailed in an 82-52 victory over visiting Regis.
Women
Deni Jacobs scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds, and Emily Hartegan added 11 points and eight rebounds as Metro State overcame a turnover-plagued first half to defeat Colorado Christian 67-53.
FRIDAY’S HIGHLIGHT
Laura Tyree’s 3-pointer with 1:01 left gave Colorado Mines a five-point lead, and the Orediggers went on to defeat Regis 68-62.
