Defenseman Drew Doughty and forward Anze Kopitar of the Stanley Cup champion Los Angeles Kings where among the 36 players added to the NHL all-star roster Saturday for the Jan. 25 game in Columbus, Ohio.

Earlier, Chicago’s Jonathan Toews, Corey Crawford, Patrick Kane, Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook and Buffalo’s Zemgus Girgensons were selected in fan voting. Pittsburgh stars Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin and Washington’s Alex Ovechkin also were added to the roster.

One player who made the list, Detroit goaltender Jimmy Howard, was carted off the ice with a groin injury in the first period against Washington on Saturday night and did not return.

Howard was hurt attempting to make a save on Troy Brouwer’s power-play goal at 1:53.

As Brouwer stuffed
the puck in the right side, Howard — coming from the left — stretched trying to make the save.

He remained down on his stomach for about five minutes, rose to his knees, was placed on a stretcher and carted to the locker room.
