Enthusiasm — and confidence — were running high as Bronco fans began setting up their tailgate parties Sunday morning.

“I think we can dominate this game,” said Darryl Salazar, 51, an electrician with Xcel Energy. Salazar and his brother, Angelo Salazar, 48, were setting up a barbecue for 20 people beneath a 25 foot long pole bearing a U.S., and three Bronco flags, attached to their sports utility vehicle.

“This has been a tradition,” Darryl Salazar said.

The Broncos will surely win Sunday’s battle against the Indianapolis Colts, the brothers said, though they differed on the final score, with Angelo predicting a 28-7 win, and Darryl expecting 35-14.

“We are going to beat New England next week,” and follow that victory with a Superbowl win against the Dallas Cowboys, Darryl said.

Eric and Nicole Joslin flew into Denver on Saturday from their home in Farmington, N.M. The couple arrived at the stadium in a rented car prepared to party at about 9:30 a.m.

“We are excited, we are having fun enjoying the atmosphere,” said Eric, 31.

Nicole said the game with the Colts is the first NFL play-off game she has attended.

Meghan Sutcliffe, 36, and Hunter West, 37, came from San Leandro, Calif., to visit friends in Highlands Ranch. “They said do you want to go to the game,” Sutcliffe said.

Sutcliffe watches the Oakland Raiders and San Francisco 49ers, when she is home, but the game at Sports Authority Field at Mile High, is her first live NFL game, she said.

“Niners games, and Raiders games, you would rather sit in your own home,” she said.
