Denver-based Quiznos on Monday announced Doug Pendergast as the new president CEO, marking the third leadership change in less than five years for the sub sandwich chain.
Pendergast most recently was CEO of The Krystal Co., an Atlanta-based hamburger chain. He is viewed as a turnaround specialist for struggling restaurants.
Pendergast replaces Quiznos said Mathis resigned “to pursue other opportunities.” Mathis had replaced to replace Quiznos founder Rick Schaden.

“The breadth of (Pendergast’s) experience in restaurants and franchising combined with his leadership experience in turnaround situations makes him uniquely qualified to lead this organization and move Quiznos forward,” said Quiznos chairman Doug Benham.
