With everything iced, finding a place to fish is easy. But catching fish can be a challenge at times. One hot spot has been St. Vrain State Park, where the rainbows have been hitting just about everything folks are trying. Expect crowds — and for the bite to let up in the next couple of weeks. Cherry Creek and Chatfield are slow. Aurora is a better bet for trout and the occasional perch and walleye. Bear Creek has been hit and miss, but a few rainbows are being iced. Up north, Red Feather’s Dowdy and West lakes continue to produce good numbers of small trout. Green Mountain has been one of the bright spots for lake trout.
