A body was found early Wednesday afternoon in Weld County while sheriff’s deputies were investigating an explosion about five miles east of Erie.
The man was found near a vacuum tank in the area of County Roads 6 and 11 at about 12:22 p.m.
Deputy Sean Standridge told The Greeley Tribune that investigators believe the 26-year-old victim was welding near the vacuum tank trailer, which is used to haul oil from local well sites.
The official cause and manner of death are under investigation and will be determined by the coroner’s office.
