COLORADO SPRINGS — A man who appeared to be drunk walked into a Colorado Springs high school Friday afternoon, according to Academy District 20 officials.

Officials said Kelly Raftery, 35, entered Pine Creek High School at about 1:30 p.m. and sat down in a classroom without talking to any students or making any threats.

A teacher confronted Raftery and several students left the classroom to alert security, said Academy District 20 spokeswoman Nanette Anderson.

Raftery was detained by school security officers and escorted out of the building within five minutes of entering, officials said.

Colorado Springs police said Raftery was arrested for an outstanding traffic warrant.
