Fast-growing Castle Rock will hold a meeting Wednesday to start the process of redistricting to ensure that election districts in the town are as evenly populated as possible.

The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. in Castle Rock Town Hall, 100 N. Wilcox St.

The town’s charter requires a reevaluation of election districts every six years and the district with the lowest number of residents must have at least 85 percent as many residents as the most populous district.

With 10,000 new residents since 2010, Castle Rock is expected to make some changes to its district boundaries.

Town staff will work with a registration list to determine the number of voters impacted by the recommended changes and will communicate those changes by mail, news releases and .
