, a Denver-based , has secured $2 million from the White Cedar Venture fund.

This is the company’s first institutional round, bringing its total funding to about $3.1 million.

At first glance, Brandfolder might seem like just another in a long line of cloud-based storage startups.

However, says CEO Steve Baker, there’s much more to it.

“It’s not about storage. It’s about logistics,” he said. “Your company logo lives in 500 places across the Web, across multiple platforms, and we think that’s crazy.”

Brandfolder allows companies to manage their entire brand asset folder — such as logos, fonts, colors, bios and more, which are typically stored in various places — in one location, offering features such as embedding and public or secure sharing.

Brandfolder currently houses more than 250,000 brand assets for companies worldwide, including the , , , and the NFL’s NFC champion .

Baker says the latest funding will be used to double the sales and marketing team and customize the product for new markets.

Plans also include developing better integration with design programs, and further development of advanced embedding — a service allowing any asset updates (a new logo, for example) to instantly appear in multiple online areas, such as website headers, mobile apps and more.

Brandfolder, founded in 2012 by Brian Parks and Paul Arterburn, graduated from Techstars Boulder in 2013.
