Following the Entercom deal…
KKFN “The Fan” is now being held in a trust, run by Elliot Evers of Media Venture Partners. , in acquiring Lincoln Financial Media, Entercom is required by the Federal Communications Commission to divest one radio station in Denver. Evers is assigned as trustee for the divesture of KKFN-FM (104.3).
It’s unconfirmed, but word is, Kroenke Sports and Entertainment is interested in buying “The Fan,” and why not? With the Colorado Avalanche, the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Mammoth in the company’s portfolio, Kroenke would seem to be a natural to own “Denver’s Sports Station.”
Radio trusts are not uncommon and some run for long periods of time. In this case, however, the expectation is that things will move quickly.
