recorded its highest annual number of visitors in 2014.

After including November and December numbers, the park hosted 3,434,754 visitors last year.

The highest number of visits prior to 2014 was in 2000, when the park received 3,380,044, said Kyle Patterson, park spokesperson.

Patterson said the high number of visits could be linked to the park’s Centennial Celebration. , which will continue through September 2015.

Other parks celebrating their centennial anniversaries have experienced increases in visitation as well, Patterson said.
