Eagle Days
Lake Pueblo State Park’s 17th annual Eagle Day Festival is Feb. 6-8. Enjoy meet-and-greets with birds of prey, keynote speakers, plus live bird programs, a driving eagle tour and more.
Alley Loop
The 29th annual Alley Loop Nordic Marathon begins Feb. 6 in Crested Butte. This half-silly, half-serious event includes the town’s largest costume party and biggest Nordic event of the year, with kids and parents encouraged to participate in both. Nordic courses range from 1.5 to 42 kilometers, and registration begins at $10. Events kick off Friday evening, with a winter bike race and a pub crawl on skis.
Winter Carnival
Winter Park’s Winter Carnival is Feb. 7-15. This nine-day event features activities like a disco skate night, vintage Warren Miller film screenings, ski and snowboard competitions, a snowshoe race, yoga classes set to live music and plenty more. playwinterpark.com or 970-726-4118
Gold rush on snow
Frisco’s 45th annual Gold Rush is Feb. 7. Hosted by the Frisco Nordic Center, this all-day Nordic celebration features six ski races during the day and fireworks in the evening. Race entry fees vary.
