FAMILY FUN: Itap a mouthful of a name, but “Disney Junior Live On Tour! Pirate & Princess Adventure” boils down to one thing: kids getting to see their favorite characters from the Disney TV shows “Sofia the First” and “Jake and the Never Land Pirates.” The all-new stage production features music, special effects and plenty of action as the narrative alternates between Sofia’s royal celebration (with a special appearance from Cinderella) and the adventures of Jake and his buddies (with Peter Pan and Captain Hook). 6:30 p.m. Jan. 29 at the Budweiser Events Center, 5290 Arena Circle in Loveland ($25-$50); 7 p.m. Jan. 30 and 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Jan. 31 at the Bellco Theatre, 700 14th St. ($20-$67); and noon and 3 p.m. Feb. 1 ($27-$62) at the Pikes Peak Center, 190 S. Cascade Ave. in Colorado Springs. Tickets: .

The CSO will present a staged version of “H.M.S. Pinafore.” Provided by the Colorado Symphony Orchestra
CLASSICAL MUSIC: Lately, we’ve been recommending a lot of offerings by the Colorado Symphony Orchestra — for a good reason. The CSO is trying some interesting things this season, and we want to get the word out. This weekend, the musicians join with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra Chorus and talented out-of-town singers for a staging of Gilbert & Sullivan’s “H.M.S. Pinafore.” While the comic opera is one of the most performed works in history, it rarely gets offered around here, at least with such credible players and singers. The 1878 work takes place aboard a ship where a captain’s daughter must choose between love and duty. 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday. Boettcher Concert Hall, Denver Performing Arts Complex, $25-$89. 303-623-7876 or .

DANCE: The touring production “Dancing Pros: Live” is not to be confused with ABC’s popular “Dancing with the Stars” competition — although the producers of the former probably wouldn’t mind that. The “Pros” show, which visits the Buell Theatre Jan. 23-24, features “Stars” winner Karina Smirnoff as its head judge, “Stars” dancers Edyta Sliwinska and Chelsie Hightower on its roster, and is hosted by Alan Thicke (“Growing Pains”) — who could easily give “Stars” host Alan Bergeron a run for his hosting money. Check out the cha-cha, tango, swing and samba alongside a performance from vocalist Angel Taylor (“The Voice”) and vote for your favorites (results will be revealed at the end). 7:30 p.m. Jan. 23; 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Jan. 24. 950 13th St. $25-$85. 800-641-1222 or .
