RE: Harrop: No excuses for non-voting millennials

I agree with Froma Harrop that millennials have failed to seize the power of the ballot box as the result of having been duped into believing that it won’t matter anyway. Harrop also points out that older conservatives, many who are influenced by Fox News and commentators like Bill O’Reilly, vote for conservative Republican candidates and that is the threat to millennials.

Millennials will inherit the results of legislation these politicians enact.


The choice is clear: don’t vote and live with choices made by old conservative voters; or vote for your interests. Those interests should include protecting the environment, creating jobs that pay a living wage, educating our children and working for global peace.

If millennials as well as older voters inform themselves on these issues, they will vote, and vote for those who will represent them, not large corporations and wealthy contributors.
