Authorities on Monday identified the four people killed in a two-vehicle Weld County crash on Sunday night, including two boys ages 1 and 6 years old who were riding in a minivan.
The crash happened at about 10 p.m. when a Dodge Ram pickup truck slammed into the side of a Honda Odyessey minivan on Weld County Road 48 at U.S. 85 Sunday night, officials said.
The driver of the Dodge, Rigoberto Macias-Marquez, 44, of La Salle died on scene.
The driver of Honda Odyssey, Gilbert Martinez, 37, of La Salle, also died on the scene, as did his passengers Ethan Martinez, 6, and Bryson Martinez, 1.
A 32-year-old woman in the Honda sustained minor injuries in the crash and was taken to North Colorado Medical Center.
The Dodge was traveling southbound on U.S. 85 when it crossed into oncoming traffic and collided into the driver’s side of the Honda, causing it to detach, Trooper Nate Reid said.
“The driver’s side was taken out, essentially,” Reid said.
The impact caused the Dodge to roll and the Honda to rotate.
The wreck remains under investigation.
