1 Enraged man destroys car interior. An intoxicated man passed out after a smoke break in a parked car at the Olde Town Tavern at 7355 W. 58th Ave. in Arvada on Jan. 10. He became enraged after the car alarm went off so he ripped off the steering wheel, smashed the radio and speedometer and destroyed whatever he could lay his hands on. He then vomited over the interior. When asked by police about two restraining orders prohibiting him from drinking, the suspect said, “Well, I’m at a bar.”

2 Driver carrying illegal weapon. Police confiscated an illegal knife from a driver pulled over for an unsafe lane change Jan. 10 at Sheridan Boulevard and West 60th Avenue in Arvada.

3 Drunk flees cab. An intoxicated woman who jumped out of a taxi cab window to avoid paying the fare Jan. 10 at the Apex Center, 13150 W. 72nd Ave., Arvada, was arrested for theft and violation of two protection orders.

4 Aggressive dogs get maced. A bystander concerned about the aggressive behavior of two loose dogs in the 8500 block of Fenton Street in Arvada on Jan. 12 blasted the mutts with pepper spray. They continued harassing pedestrians until police arrived and issued their owner a summons.

5 Daring escape for shoplifter. A man sprinted out of Target, 7899 Wadsworth Blvd., Arvada, on Jan. 12 with a stolen backpack in hand. Store security chased the shoplifter, who ditched the backpack before escaping in a white van.
