A Colorado Springs man wanted for vehicle theft, who reportedly wore body armor and threatened to shoot any law enforcement officers he came into contact with, was arrested Wednesday, the El Paso Sheriff’s Office said.
Antonio Reddell, 25, was apprehended without incident, officials said.
Authorities had been hunting for Reddell since a stolen vehicle report on Jan. 22. On Wednesday an off-duty deputy spotted Reddell traveling west on Galley Road. As personnel began responding to the area, deputies said Reddell began evasive action and temporarily eluded officers.
It was learned Reddell was renting a storage unit on Pikes Peak Avenue. Surveillance was set up and while a search warrant was being obtained, law enforcement noticed activity inside the storage unit. Officers closed in and arrested Reddell.
Reddell will face new felony charges, including the possession of burglary tools and the possession of a stolen Yamaha ATV. Officials said four stolen motor vehicles were also recovered.
