WATCH:
Police in Greeley are investigating after a semi-trailer struck and ran over a teenager on Wednesday night, killing him.
Officer founds the teenager, identified only as a male, dead near the intersection of U.S. 34 and the U.S. 85 bypass at about 7:45 p.m.
“Information and evidence collected during the investigation indicates the male was seen immediately prior to impact with the truck and the truck driver had no time to react to the male in the roadway,” police said in a news release.
The Weld County Coroner’s Office has not released the name of the teenager, police said.
The death closed roadways in the area for three hours as police investigated.
Police said detectives are continuing to investigate the death.
“Additional information will be released when it becomes available,” police said.
